Questions about pricing

• How do I pay?

  Payment is due when the work is finished, not when you book. We will confirm the exact total with you before we start, and it will match the number the booking page gave you unless you add something on the day.

• Is the price on the booking page the real price?

  Yes. Every price on this site comes from the same price list, and the booking page adds up your service, your vehicle size, the third-row charge if it applies and every add-on you pick before you submit anything. The only things without a set number are a disaster detail and a boat over 24 feet, and both of those are clearly marked as quoted from photos.

• Can you get pet hair out?

  Yes, and it is priced separately because it genuinely takes hours. Light is one dog that rides occasionally. Heavy is hair actually woven into the carpet fibres, which has to be pulled out rather than vacuumed. If you are not sure which you have, book light and we will tell you on the day before doing anything extra.

• How long does the wax and sealant last?

  Wax on its own is measured in weeks, especially through a winter of brine and cinders. A paint sealant over it holds through a season. The six-month ceramic spray coating is the longest-lasting option we offer and it is exactly what its name says — six months.

• Why is a boat over 24 feet quote-only?

  Because at that length there is no honest single price. The difference between a clean pontoon and a neglected cruiser is thousands of square feet of surface and a completely different amount of work. Send photos through the booking page and you will get a real number back instead of a guess.

• What counts as a disaster detail?

  Mold, a flooded interior, an animal that got in, or a vehicle that has to be emptied before it can be cleaned at all. It is quoted from photos rather than priced up front, because these jobs vary more than any other kind of work we do. The figure on the site is a minimum, not an estimate.

• Why can I only book some packages at certain times of year?

  Because the work is different in February than it is in July. The Winter Salt package exists to get brine out of a carpet and a sealant onto paint while the salt trucks are still running, and selling it in August would be selling you something you do not need yet. Out-of-season packages stay on the site with their prices so you can plan, and they open again on the date shown.

• Should I book a package or just pick services?

  A package is a bundle at a bundle price, so if it covers what your vehicle needs it works out cheaper than buying the same work piece by piece. If you only need part of it, book the individual service instead. Call us if you are between the two and we will tell you honestly which is less money.

• Winter Salt and Spring Recovery are both showing. Which one?

  They overlap through March on purpose. Early in the month the salt trucks may still be out, so the winter package is the one that makes sense; by the end of the month they have usually stopped and the spring package is the better buy. If you are not sure which side of that you are on, call and ask.

• How does the Detail Club work?

  It is a monthly plan: one exterior hand wash a month with an interior vacuum and wipe-down, priority on the calendar, and ten percent off every add-on and full detail. Sign up through the form and we will call you to set it up. You can cancel any time, and there is no term and no cancellation fee.

• How does the referral discount work?

  Send somebody our way and they get twenty five dollars off their first service, then you get twenty five dollars off your next one. Three referrals earns you a free basic interior and five earns a free full detail. Just make sure they put your name in the referral box when they book.

• What is the difference between the Basic and the Deep Interior?

  The Basic Interior is a reset: a full vacuum of the carpets, mats, seats and trunk, every hard surface wiped down, interior glass done and the mats cleaned and dressed. The Deep Interior is everything in the Basic plus the work a vacuum cannot do — carpets and cloth seats shampooed and extracted, steam into the vents, seams and trim, leather cleaned and conditioned where the vehicle has it, the headliner spot-treated and the door jambs cleaned. If the inside is untidy, book the Basic. If it is stained, smells, or has not been cleaned in a year, book the Deep.

• What is the difference between wax and a sealant?

  Wax is a natural product that sits on the paint and gives it depth and gloss. It is measured in weeks. A sealant is synthetic, it bonds to the paint rather than resting on it, and it holds through a season of brine and cinders. The Exterior Hand Wash has neither — it is a wash. Wash plus Wax plus Sealant decontaminates the paint first, waxes it by hand and then seals over the top, which is the combination worth having going into a Western Pennsylvania winter.

• Is the Protect version of the full detail worth the extra?

  It is if the vehicle lives outside, and around here most of them do. The Full Detail cleans everything and waxes the paint. Full Detail + Protect does all of that and then layers protection over it: a paint sealant on top of the wax, a ceramic spray on top of that, fabric protectant on the carpets and cloth seats so the next spill sits on the surface long enough to blot, leather conditioned where the vehicle has it, and the glass sealed so rain beads and moves. If the vehicle is garaged and you are cleaning it up for a sale, the standard full detail is the one.

• Why do third rows and extended cabs cost more?

  Because they are more seating and more carpet, and both of those are time. A third row means another bench to pull apart, vacuum, shampoo and dry, and an extended cab means the same behind the front seats. It is a set surcharge, it is the same figure whatever the vehicle, and the booking page adds it to the total in front of you when you tick the box rather than appearing on the bill afterwards.

• How do I know if the gelcoat is oxidised?

  Run a hand over the hull. If it comes back with a chalky white film on it, that is oxidation — the gelcoat surface has broken down in the sun. Washing does not fix it because it is not dirt, it is the surface itself, and it has to be compounded back to a fresh layer. That is why it is priced as its own line rather than folded into the wash: it genuinely is a separate job and it takes hours.
